Leah Hirsch is a Legislative Assistant at Mehlman Castagnetti, supporting the firm’s Democratic team and working with clients to execute their strategic long- and short-term goals in Washington. She handles daily scheduling operations, preparing background materials on legislative priorities, managing coalitions, and organizing panels, travel and fly-ins. She also handles Democratic fundraising and special events, as well as planning related to the Democratic National Convention.
Hirsch first developed a passion for policy and politics while serving as a high school Page in the U.S. Senate for Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-AR). After college, she returned to Washington to work for Sen. Lincoln conducting constituent outreach and providing support for the Senator’s scheduling and office, where she gained valuable experience on Senate floor procedure and in Congressional office operations. She also worked as Field Organizer for the Democratic Coordinated Campaign of Louisiana during the 2008 Presidential Campaign and has been an active volunteer in multiple Senate races.
Hirsch graduated from Rhodes College, where she was captain of the varsity dive team and a student member of Board of Trustees. In college, she worked with many advocacy groups, including grassroots support for the Refugee Empowerment program in Memphis, TN. She is currently a member of the Women’s Congressional Golf Association.
