As a Legislative Assistant at Mehlman Castagnetti Rosen & Thomas, Elizabeth Hale supports the firm’s Democratic team and works with clients to execute their strategic long- and short-term goals in Washington. She handles daily scheduling operations, preparing background materials on legislative priorities, managing coalitions, and organizing panels, travel and fly-ins. She also handles Democratic fundraising and special events.
Prior to joining Mehlman Castagnetti, Elizabeth completed a variety of internships, including local political campaigns and a year-long fellowship with the City of Memphis Weatherization Assistance Program. She also served as an intern for U.S. Senator Doug Jones’s (D-AL) Birmingham, AL office, where she assisted staff on a variety of legislative issues and planned State-level events, and in Senator Jones’s D.C. office, where she focused primarily on Health Policy.
Elizabeth graduated from Rhodes College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Urban Studies with a concentration in Urban and Community Health. While at Rhodes, she enjoyed serving as senator on Rhodes Student Government and as a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mid-South. She is currently earning a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in Health Policy at American University’s School of Public Affairs. She serves as the President of SPA’s Graduate Student Council.
